MTC week

Image
Hola, This is coming in from your lovely neighborhood elder Fuell. First off this week has been the hardest by far.  For one reason and one reason only the water has been freezing in the showers.  We found out just barely that our water heater was off.  Everyone was too scared to tell presidente Duvall except for me and my Companion.  The reason this has made my week so difficult is because I rely on showers for spiritual strength just like any progressing youth in this glorious gospel.  No joke, when we got the heat back for that next morning my soul rejoiced on the most high. Besides that this week has been so funny.  I cried myself to sleep everynight because of laughing.  The latinos kept coming into our room and talking it up with us.  There is one elder they always teased in the funniest ways.  There was one night they pointed at him and said, "Usted es elder Barbie" and then he just started laughing so hard.  an...

Week One

Hola, This MTC (missionary training center) is so cool.  The Latinos are hilarious and the mission life is way great.  I do not even know what to start talking about.  My companion and I went to the bathroom the other day and there were two Latino companions and one of them looked at me and said, "I am the black Bill Gates."  He said it as clear as day in English! I was laughing so hard.  My companion did not think it was "appropriate"  but since heavenly father is watching us the least we can do is be entertaining. ;) I scored a goal on some of the Latino´s in soccer the other day.  and then they scored on me.  I was pretty pumped though.  We went to the temple today and we took pictures.  By the way the camera you gave me cannot get any pictures on the computer so I will get pictures from someone else and try and send them before my time is up.  They drive insane here.  We rode the bus over to the temple and on the way...

I Made It!!

Family, I am at the MTC and they have had me busy.  We got here at like 1:30 am this morning.  I met plenty of great Elders in these last two days.  My Companion is Elder Boyack... He seems like a nice guy and I think we will get along well.  Flying was not too bad, but it was hard not to watch the jungle book when the man next to me was watching it.  He was a nice guy, his name was Alex and he was not interested in the church, but he was a very nice guy and I enjoyed his presence.  My districto consists of 6 elders including myself that are all going to the Barranquilla Colombia mission.  We are all Nortes.  That is what they call us here.  This place is a party though.  I have been laughing a lot everyday! Elder Shaw had a latino asking him, ¿que digo? he asked me what he was saying and I kind of left him hanging because I did not know either.  When I looked it up I was cracking up myself and I felt a little bad.  Elde...

August 2, 2016 _ Leaving for Colombia

Image
Today Elder David Fuell left from Salt Lake City to Bogota Colombia to the Missionary Training Center.  He will be there for approximately six weeks as he learns some language skills and about the culture of Colombia.  After the six weeks he will then report to his mission in Barranquilla for the remaining two years.  David was excited to go.  This choice is totally theirs if they want to go on a mission.  David's older brother Joe served in Mexico City and Dallin is currently serving in the California Irvine Mission and will be returning home from his two years on September 7th.  As hard as it is to see them go, we know that this is a great opportunity for them to grow into independent men with a strong sense of family and how to navigate their own lives.  We look forward to his emails and his experiences of faith and just living in Colombia.
