Another Great Week in Colombia - Santa Marta

Image
We had baptisms this last week. This week has been a little crazy, my companion and I have continued looking for an apartment and we were working really hard preparing this baptism this week.  Finding new investigators has been a little rough, but a missionary has got to do what a missionary has got to do.  When we went to the church on Saturday morning to fill the baptismal font the water was coming out brown.  So we had to keep the water running until clean water would start coming and then drain it.  Clean water never came.  Also, the drain didn`t work.  So my companion and I ended up using trash cans to drain the water manually for an hour and a half.  It was fun.  But it took up a lot of time and I am still a little sore.  Then we ended up going to one of the other branches here in Santa Marta and we baptized them there with some other missionaries that also had a baptism. Sunday we were in meetings all day because we ...

Another week in Colombia

No I did not get my birthday treat. Look up Manzanares Santa Marta Colombia.  It`s a beautiful city, only problem is that there is a lot of tourists. Sounds like everyone is good.  I hope Kathryn practiced her Italian because that should be interesting. Hope Tom and Janaye have fun at Prom.  When`s prom? This week for us was a very normal week.  We have been searching for a new house in the morning and in the afternoon we are working in the missionary work.  We found some apartments that were really close to the beach but they were only a little out of our price range so our mission president said no. =( I was hoping to go on early morning runs on the beach.  But my companion and I still went on a early morning run to the beach.  It`s like 10-15 min from our house.  It was refreshing.  My companion is a great guy.  He has 10 months in the mission and is a little crazy sometimes, but we get along really well.  We have 2 bapti...

Birthday Transfers

Thanks for the birthday wishes! This week was great.  I had a lot of cake on Sunday, one of them I bought myself to share with the members at church.  (The members here don`t have very much money so I thought it would be nice to share on my birthday)  It was really fun.  We worked a normal Sunday and went to a small town called Polo nuevo and worked.  While we were in Polo nuevo the assistents to the president called us to tell us that I had transfers.  I am currently in Santa Marta.  It`s another city north of Barranquilla.  It`s a beautiful city, I live right up on the coast.  I literally can go running with my companion every day a long the caribbean sea.  Currently we live in a small apartment with 4 missionaries.  My companion and I are going apartment shopping because someone broke into the old apartment a few weeks back.  So we have to have an apartment in less than a week or we get kicked out of our are...

Elder David Fuell - Baranoa I am glad to hear that everyone is doing good.  Tell grandma that I am praying for her and hope that she gets better.  This week has been wild for us.  We have been working a ton.  After we have had these two baptisms we are looking for new investigators to teach and it has been a little busy.  We have been trying to learn our area a little better because our area is actually really big.  We have been going to a small town that is like 5 miles from where we live.  We have been having a little bit of success there, but the problem is that we always use our money to go to and from the town and I don`t have money for breakfast. I truly feel the prayers that you are all giving me and also all of the blessings of being a missionary.  This last week I was looking at all of the baptisms that I have had the pleasure in participating in because of something new we are doing this next week.  It made me refl...
