The refiners fire!! And my favorite things!

¡Buenos Tardes!

This week has been very full of everything.

First off.  I made some arepas this week and they were delicious, but I ran into a problem when I didn`t have any paper towels to clean up the mess on my hands and in the kitchen. =/

I am going to be teaching an English class on Saturdays at 7.  If you can make it I would love to see you there.  It will be at the stake center of the stake El Carmen.

Also the tree outside my apartment is producing mango's.  I am excited for when they are ripe.  I bought some oreos and ate them with milk that made me very happy.

I noticed this week that 6 months ago I opened my call.  I thought that was a little weird.  But time flies when you`re working hard. =)  Also, my companion hit his year mark on Sunday so we brought a cake to church and shared it with our investigators and less actives.

Also a homeless guy told me in English that he needed money so he could go back home to salt lake.  He wasn`t from Salt Lake haha that was for sure.  I just gave him a part of my lunch though because that was all I had.

My knees are incredibly sore because of how much prayers I am sending to my Heavenly Father for you guys.  I hope you know how much I care about you all and that you all understand how important this gospel is in our lives.  Mosiah 2 says it best. ;)

Also on a little more of a personal note.  My favorite thing about this place is how everything is during the sunset.  Not that it is just beautiful.  But as I walk the world just stops for a second as if to just say welcome to your home for two years.  With soft Latino music in the background.  The sound of a motorcycle speeding by.  The kids playing soccer in the streets.  The guy walking down the street holding his newspaper under his arm and his beer in the other hand and yet he still waves with his free hand because he knows of who me and my companion are and what we do.  I love the feeling of the breeze when we are walking so quickly that the heat is killing me.  I love the feeling of ache I have when I collapse into my bed at night after my prayers.  Knowing that I have tried the best I could today and that I am going to have to try harder tomorrow.  I love the laughs we have when I mispronounce a word.  Or the smiles we have when we just know we had a great lesson.  I love all these things.  And I love Colombia.  I love the people.  I love how immediately when we knock on their doors and they see who it is they begin looking for their chairs to prepare for our message.  I love the faith in the air.  I love these things because I know Christ is in all of them.  He truly lives, he loves us, he hears us, he wants us to follow his commandments so he can bless us.  When I have those moments that are difficult I close my eyes and I think of Him.  I think of how proud He is of me and my siblings for all the good we have tried to do.  And keep trying to do.  I say these things as a testament to all of you that no matter where you are in the world no matter what you feel, He knows.  Follow Him.
