Elder Chuelly

Hola, un otra interesante semana aquí en Barranquilla.

I am glad to hear that everything is doing well back home.  I hope Katie makes tons of money at her new job and sends me gifts with that new money.  I hope everyone keeps working hard in these upcoming weeks and I will keep you all in my prayers.

The Spanish is still a struggle, but life is day to day.  And patience is a virtue of Christ, so instead of wishing my life away I am going to try enjoying this point in my life because I won´t have anything like this ever again.

Also, I am a little less worried about the Spanish and worried that I am going to become incredibly overweight out here.  They all feed me super well... Too well.  I usually end up eating my food and my companions.  And my companion won´t go on runs with me in the morning so that makes me a little sad.  But yeah we have been talking with a bunch of Venezuelans who have been hanging out with our Elders quorum president.  They are all super cool and trying to find a new life here in Colombia.  They have been trying to start a Yogurt business on the side of their normal jobs and they sometimes let elder Peña and I try it.  It´s pretty great.  Also our apartment is above a bakery and they´ve started giving elder Peña and I this sweet deal on pan dulce.  Which is basically just bread with sugar jelly inside.  I eat it all the time and am concerned for my well being.

Other than that we have had a very successful week in the books.  To me though I want to stay with these people more because everyone accepts the invitation to be baptized, but once we give them a date and ask them to come to church on Sunday they are a little more reluctant.  As the days go on I am definitely feeling more like the sons of Mosiah in Mosiah 28:3.  I truly desire every person to come unto Christ and the very thought of any of these people having to suffer in the after life makes me work that much harder.

Also there have been all these weird guys running around in our neighborhood cutting tree branches with machetes.  Elder Peña says that´s their job, but I don´t trust those guys. haha

Until next week!
