Alright..When?
Good evening,
Alright, this week has been crazy busy. We have had lesson after lesson after lesson everyday and when we are not in lessons we are searching for people that the Lord will place in our paths. We have a family we have been teaching and they came to church this last Sunday and they are progressing really well (Familia San Juan). We had the mom, one of the daughters and her 18 year old son who lives like 20 minutes away. Her son was way cool. And we had an experience with him that I will never forget. We were talking with him about missionary work and he thought it was really cool. He was wondering if he would be able to do something like that. So we told him if he is baptized and actively participates within the church, that after a year he could have the opportunity to serve a mission. This was his response, "Okay, Cuando?" ( Alright...When?). We were a little confused but he was wondering when he could be baptized. So we asked if we could have a lesson with him after church and we taught about the doctrine of Christ the need of baptism and a couple commandments and he was super excited about all of it. His date for baptism is the 19th of November. I really hope he progresses. His mom and dad need to get married before she can be baptized though. Marriages are really hard here because they cost a bit of money.
Halloween here doesn`t seem that different than the U.S.. There are a ton of kids running around in costumes and drunk people everywhere. We have Tiendas (little stores) on every other corner and they sell all kinds of basic household needs and beer so there is always people passed out on the corners outside of the tiendas with a pack of toilet paper as a pillow. haha
Tell Janaye and Tom to keep themselves busy and they`ll forget about me. Tell them I think about them sometimes when I am testifying of eternal families. Keep up the good work. Not much more to report this week. I am happy, healthy, working hard, the food is delicious as always.
Today I saw a giant iguana that was pretty cool. They climb trees so that kind of freaked me out. Also can you guys send me family pictures and or pictures of my baptism. Family vacations or things like that. Visual things like that help investigators to understand that as missionaries we still have families and lives like normal people.
I pray for you guys every night. I hope you have opportunities to serve others. Have a good week. =)
