Apply! Apply! Aplica!!
Good afternoon mother and Family,
Good to hear that things are all normal back home, I was in centro Barranquilla today and was thinking about how weird it is that I am on another continent. Haha but all is well.
For lunch today I had KFC and Mcdonalds. It was funny because they bought a ton of arepas from the KFC and me and the other gringo in my district were a little surprised by that. the arepas were really good though so I can´t complain.
This week has been fun, we met with our progressing family and also with an investigator named Louis. When we were talking with Louis we asked him if he knew the church was true and he said that he knew it. We asked him if he had received the answer in prayer. He told us no. So we were a little confused and asked him how he knew. He told us he knew that our church was true because we were nice and that we were messengers from God. Although that was nice to hear we continued to tell him that he should pray in order to receive an answer for himself from heavenly father that this church is true. He didn´t come to church this week so we have to go see what´s up with that.
We met with the family that is progressing. They´re doing great. We have a date for matrimonio por Lizbeth la madre en la familia y el padre pero yo no puedo recordar su nombre ahora. haha We asked them how they felt in church on Sunday and they told us that they felt a peace during the sacrament. My compañero was really excited about that. "¡Que Poder!" he keeps saying.
This week was a little rough because my compañero wants me to take initiative and that means he just stops talking and lets me talk. It is a little hard sometimes because I don´t usually know enough about these people to start talking about a lesson, but that´s why I just ask more questions and then start the lessons. It improves my relationship with them and my understanding of them and their situations.

Also, we had the opportunity on Sunday to just sit and talk while it was pouring rain for an hour and the entire hour Élder Peña was telling me how I needed to be a better missionary by applying what I am learning in my studies. And to trust more in the spirit when he stops talking during our lessons. He then continued to tell me to focus more in our lessons. (during the weekends everyone is blasting music and I can´t hear anything) For the first ten minutes of his lecture it was a little annoying I won´t lie. But Elder Peña is awesome because of how straight forward he is at the same time. Because it helps me to be a lot more confident with myself especially in Spanish. A lot of other guys from the U.S. here have very little confidence talking in Spanish, let alone at all, By the end of his lecture I was feeling great. And that´s how it should be as a missionary. A little bit of chastisement for improvement. So we´ve been kicking butt out here in Alfonso Lopez.
We had interviews with our mission president in centro this week and he said that Alfonso Lopez is an example to the mission right now. So I don´t have much to complain about right now.
So this week I will keep applying, applying, y aplicando.
Hasta Próximo Lunes
