Another Week in Colombia



Transfers were last week and Elder Peña and I are together for another 6 weeks in Alfonso Lopez.  We were both really excited knowing we will be able to work together for a couple more baptisms we have been preparing and also to spend "La navidad" in Alfonso Lopez.

This week has been interesting in my studies!  I have been really focused on my patriarchal blessing and the house of Israel.  That has been where most of my personal pondering has been placed.  Or at least for the first half of my week.  In the bible dictionary Israel also means: God will prevail
I thought that was really interesting.  I have taken it to heart knowing that the only way God can prevail is if we literally give everything to him.  I finished reading the 4th missionary (Someone left it for me in my suitcase) and also a search for happiness By : M. Russell Ballard

All of these study materials and notes and thoughts have really kept me in the mindset that it doesn`t matter what happens to me while I´m out here as long as I am keeping the commandments and giving everything I have got to the Lord I will have his spirit to be with me.

I have been praying a lot, searching my heart to know of a surety that every gospel principle is true.  I have been reading the articles of faith a lot in Spanish (thanks Joe) and I know that these things are for the benefit for me and all of Man kind.  I love the Lord my God with all my heart might mind and strength and am grateful for the opportunity to serve.

Another Week in Colombia

The group of missionaries leaving the Colombia Barranquilla Mission on 7/17/18 7/17/18 Elder David Fuell is on his way home.  We have enjoyed watching David learn the culture of Colombia and learn to love the people there.  His smile tells us that he loved the people he worked with and learned to appreciate a different way of life.  I know he has testified many times in these last two years about the truthfulness of the gospel and spent the last two years sharing that testimony of his.  We echo his testimony and am so glad David chose to go on a mission.  He didn't have to go.  He did not get paid and there is no earthly reward for dedicating your life for two years to the Lord.  But he went anyway!  We love David and are excited to learn of the things he experienced and the great people he taught and loved.  A las Colombianos que ayudaran a Elder Fuell, gracias y que Dios te bendigas siempre.  Con amor, The Fuells 7/16/18 ...

Two weeks of posts and only two weeks left

July 2, 2018 Sounds like everyone else is doing good.  I am also doing good. I have been spending a lot of time in my house because of the world cup, but it's been some good study time and a lot of reflecting time.  Even though my companion and I haven't had a lot of time to get out to work we have a baptism this week and a possible baptism next week.  His name is Carlos. He's really cool.  He cracks me up.  He is 17 years old and he sometimes is really lazy, but he wants to improve in everything.  Since he is 17 his mom had to sign his permission this week to have his interview and when she went to sign it she stopped and said, "You know that this is a really important decision.  Are you sure you want to do this?" He looked down, put his face in his hands for like 5 seconds looked up at us and at her and said, "Sign it." Without even a look of hesitation in his face.  Then while she was writing it he said "No! Another week in Colombia

Happy late 4th of July.  Hope that it was really cool. Sorry about the heat there sounds like Cartegena. This week was wild.  We have some new investigators that were referrals from the Bishop and they are a couple and they drink A LOT.  The first time we went to their was almost 3 weeks ago.  When we got there they were really drunk and telling us that they wanted to change their lives.  So we started talking to them about the Plan of Salvation and the word of wisdom.  We left them a pamphlet and came back another day to teach more.  The next time we passed by their house they had completely stopped drinking.  They said that they felt something when we taught them and it was enough reason for them to stop drinking.  This last week they attended church for the first time and they loved it.  We taught them about the Book of Mormon and the prophet Joseph smith this last week and they were quiet until the end of the lesson and they b...
