Another week in Colombia

Good afternoon family and friends, I hope that everything is treating you all well in school, work, and whatever else you`re up too.

I was just emailing one of my friends from Peru and he told me we have been out here for almost 6 months.  That kind of weirded me out.  I still feel like one of the new guys out here.

Sounds like everything is good up there so keep up the good work.

This week has been great.  I have a new companion named Elder Mejía.  He is from Guatemala.  Él es super amable y siempre tiene un buen actitud (He is super friendly and always has a great attitude).  We have been working really hard together and we have had many new contacts this week.  We have also had a lot of people tell us that they are in a different religion.  They also think we don`t believe in Jesus.  So it has been entertaining to say the least.

This week has been really interesting because we changed our missionary schedule so now we don`t plan in the night we plan in the morning.  So after Elder Mejía and I get back to our apartment we just talk about everything until we go to bed.  It`s really funny to me all the differences in culture between the U.S. Colombia and Guatemala.  Like he watched all the same shows as me while we were growing up but in Spanish.  Like Drake and Josh, and How I met your mother so I thought that was interesting.

Also on a more spiritual note I am really enjoying speaking boldly.  Because since I have been here I have become more comfortable with the culture and the people here to the point that I have no fear to say what the spirit is asking me to say.  It really helps the atmosphere of our lessons.  Because it helps people to recognize that we are not just another church.  We`re the church.  The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day saints.

One lady after we said that this church has prophets and apostles the same as Jesus had when he was on the earth and told her that this church has the power and authority of God and that it is the only true church.  She said she would like to listen more to our message but that she doesn`t think that Christ would like us to talk so directly that our church is true and that we need to live more in harmony with other churches.  I told her that Christ wasn`t crucified for saying what people wanted to hear.  And how I understand it`s difficult to hear these things, but God has once again extended his arms out to the children of men.  And I am proud to be a missionary a servant of God sharing his message.

His message is one of repentance.  Saying, "Repent all ye ends of the earth"  Yeah, it`s not easy to hear always, but that doesn`t change the fact that it`s true.

I am proud to be a missionary, proud to be a son of the Living God, proud to be a Fuell, and proud to stand for a cause as great as this.

Pray for you all and think of you often.  Have a great week. =)
