Another week in Colombia
Good morning,
This week was a little wild. We were getting bible bashed at just about every corner this week. We would pass and start talking to some people and then they would immediately start saying things like "Jose Smith no es un profeta en la biblia dice que hay muchas falsos profetas" and things like that with many scriptures and trying to get in our faces a little bit. My compañion is a little more like Joe so when people try to get in his face with stuff like that he gets a little irritated and bible bashes with them. The spirit isn`t super present but I`m not going to lie it`s pretty fun to watch. =) Because it gets to the point where he is directing the argument and then he invites them to church and says, (translated) "So if you have faith, like you said you do, and faith without works is dead, why don`t you come to church with us on Sunday?" They try making excuses and he tells them that they aren`t demostrating their faith to God and he then asks them where people go after this life if they aren`t faithful. So in the end they always say they`ll go to church on Sunday, but they never do.
This week was a little rough for us because since it is before carnaval all of our investigators are drunk if they`re older than 18 and if they`re younger than 18 they are never home. So we didn`t have a lot of lessons this week.
So this entire week we are in our apartment and my companion and I bought a ton of food and we are going to study our lives away this week. Our mission asked us to read all of the old testament this week to keep ourselves busy. They gave us a packet that`s super thick and has tests about what we are learning.
I have had a cold this week and it has been a little rough sleeping but I get over that when I am outside walking around again.
I can`t complain about anything right now, my companion and I are getting along great, we are preaching the gospel with everything we`ve got. Our heart might mind and strength. We have been teaching each other primary songs in English and Spanish and we laugh a lot. This last week a 13 year old investigator we had tried to kiss my companion on the cheek. (that`s like a greeting here) and my companion almost punched her in the face as a reflex.
When it gets hard I pray, read the scriptures, and go to church. The ward has been great. The mission has been great. Thanks for all of your prayers and support I pray for you all as much as I can. Hope you all have a great week, and remember if you have a bad day at least you can go outside. 🤕👍
