Two Weeks of Letters

 1/30/2017

Thanks for the letter this week.  That`s weird that was like a year ago.  I see Blazers all the time down here.  They are the exact same model and everything, but a color orange.  Good luck on the surgery dad.  Glad to hear the Langfords are good, tell them I said hi.  I also hope that things go well with the sealants for smiles.

My new companion is from Guatemala, He has been out for 20 months, he was a zone leader in Cartagena before coming here, and in general we laugh a lot.  We get a long really well sometimes we just sit down at night and talk for like an hour and a half.

This week was pretty great.  We have had a lot of fun and we had a baptism on Saturday so that was nice.  We had sooo many meetings this week so we didn`t get the chance to look for a lot of new investigators, but that`s part of the mission I guess.  We got to watch a mission meeting live from salt lake with Dallin H oaks, David A Bednar, Niel L Anderson, and a couple of other people.  (I only know the apostles and I feel a little bad for that) So our whole mission got to come together and it was the first time seeing some people since the CCM (Missionary Training Center) so that was nice.  The Elders from the U.S. have been calling me Juan el Bautista because apparently everyone else has been having a rough time with baptisms right now.  Another reason to count my blessings.

As for my studies I have turned more to parables.  It`s been pretty great and I would love to extend the invitation to you all to read the parable of the sower in Matthew 13.  It`s less about the sower and more about the 4 types of soil that we plant our seed.  And here`s a secret, the soil is your heart.

Also I made some mac and cheese for lunch today so that was nice.

Thanks for all of your letters and stuff.  I pray for you all and I hope you all enjoy your mornings afternoons and evenings, and all the inbetweens.

So... yeah talk to you later.

I am glad that everything went well for everyone this week.  Especially with your eye surgery dad.  A good way to look at it is if you lost one of your eyes you could wear an eye patch, that would be pretty good.  (and notice the pun, "a good way to look at it")

And I am still a little upset that Dad gave Josh Glenn a job there so I am not that impressed with their award.

That`s cool with Kate and Camille I hope that they really enjoy their missions.

This week for us was super weird.  Super great, but also just really weird in the little things.  We have been contacting so much this week.  I have already filled my planner with names of people to talk to this week.  On last Friday we went on intercambios(exchanges) with our líder de distrito (district leader) and it was super funny.

He is from Mexico City and we were talking a lot.  His English isn`t too bad so we were talking in English and he was saying about how he`shas a hard time liking everybody.  I told him he has to look beyond himself and he would start to like others.  Haha it was super weird.  Also he had my belt.  I left my belt in there apartment like 4 months ago and he was wearing it.  So it was nice to get that back.

Also Elder Mejía and I had a good week this week we worked really hard and we laughed a lot.  Elder Mejía says that he wants to be a rapper in the U.S. after his mission so I have been teaching him English here and there.  He says he wants to go by the nickname Mr. Big Tiny ( he`s not super tall ) and that he only wants to use clean words.

We had all of our investigators bail on us this Sunday in the church but still had 4 investigators attend.  They all came out of nowhere so it was interesting to see how the Lord answers prayers in ways that we don`t expect. =)

I keep you all in my prayers and I hope that you all stay healthy and have fun this next week.  (Good luck with the baby Isch =) )
